hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia-The fear of long words?!

I would like to meet the person who came up with that particular word and ask him/her one thing...WHY? Why must you scare people away from admitting and being able to pronounce their condition? What a sight! What a fright! :)

I don't think I would ever guess what that word meant. I suppose I would have guessed the following...The fear of a monstrous hippo telling one joke a day. ;D

By the way, if someone reacts negatively to this information...well, they may have Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia.
